Other African Animals

On the reserve there are 123 species of mammals, 464 species of birds, and 62 species of reptiles. There is one lion on the reserve that has lived there for a number of years but is protected. A lone male elephant is also protected and has taken residence with a herd of buffalo after his herd was killed off many years ago by poachers. There are many other animals wandering the area as well, including hyenas, aardvarks, and porcupines. In the two rivers on the reserve there are crocodiles, and hippos that may be seen on a hunt.
