On the hunt you will be accompanied by a tracker, translator if necessary, and provided with a 4 wheel drive vehicle and driver familiar with the area. Early in the morning you will leave camp via one of the trails and begin looking for animals and/or sign. If an animal is spotted you and the tracker will leave the vehicle and begin the stalk. Likewise, if fresh sign is spotted by the tracker you will leave the vehicle and follow the sign. | |
| Often you will stalk an animal or follow sign for long distances until you get a good shot. Most shots you will have to make will be between 50 and 200 yards. When hunting buffalo it is not uncommon to have to walk miles in pursuit. Buffalo are very unpredictable and will never travel in a straight line. Instead you will track them weaving through the woods until you catch up with the herd. Often it is not practical to follow the meandering buffalo herd but with the skill and knowledge of the tracker he will know where the animals are headed and be able to put you on them sooner. | ![]() |
